Governor-elect, Hope Uzodinma, freezes all bank accounts of Imo State Government

Senator Hope Uzodinma, who was announced yesterday as Governor Elect of Imo State by the Supreme Court, against incumbent Governor Emeka Ihedioha, issued a freeze-up order from January 14,2020 on all the bank accounts belonging to the state government.

The Governor Elect, Hope Uzodinma’s Campaign Organization, directed that no bank would comply with any order of transactions by any Emeka Ihedioh-led government member, according to a statement released by the Director General, Chief Cosmas Iwu.

“Following the Supreme Court judgment of 14th January 2020, I am directed by His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma to take this to your authority/instruction to place a Post No Debit (PND) order on all accounts of the Imo State Government maintained in your various institutions.” the statement reads.

“You are by this letter, directed to comply and await further instructions from the office of his excellency, the Executive Governor of Imo State”.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court overturned Emeka Ihedioha’s mandate and announced that Hope Uzodinma is the state’s victorious 9 March 2019 governorship election.
