Ramadan: Boko Haram distributes food items, cash to Borno, Yobe residents
The Islamic State-backed Boko Haram group, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), has distributed Ramadan relief packages to residents of Borno and Yobe states.
Rice, beans, millet, corn, sugar, spaghetti, and cash gifts were among the items distributed by the insurgents, according to SaharaReporters.
A security source told SaharaReporters that the gesture was to induce the villagers to join the group’s ranks as militants.
