On social media, a video of a Nigerian nursing mother wielding a cutlass and purportedly heading to church has surfaced.

People are taking various measures to defend themselves as the country’s level of insecurity rises.

The mother in the video had her child strapped to her back and was riding a motorcycle while holding a cutlass in her left hand.

Although she didn’t mention why she was bringing the cutlass to church, the person who captured the video overheard her claim she was bringing it for protection.
